Our Work

Green WaterHut is made up of five units: Design, Research, Consultancy and Education.

Design
Green WaterHut’s Design Unit seeks to develop projects that provide answers to potable water supply in communities through the combination of affordable rainwater harvesting techniques and groundwater abstraction. Designs to mitigate against floods in rural and urban communities shall also be undertaken by this unit.

Research
The Research Unit of Green WaterHut undertakes innovative research towards the efficient use and development of water and environmental resources for water supply, water management and sound environmental sanitation. This research will help provide answers to ways of alleviating poverty and improving the livelihoods of vulnerable communities.

Consultancy
Green WaterHut’s Consultancy Unit deals with all issues related to the water supply, flood mitigation and all other aspects of water and environmental issues. The unit shall also deal with other matters related to the effective use of Geo-Information Science (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) for improving the management and development of water and environmental resources for communities.

Education
The Education Unit of Green WaterHut organizes training programmes for all stakeholders involved in the development, provision and management of water resources. The unit shall promote the use of Geo-information Science (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) in the management of our natural resources. Special training programmes shall also be organized for the youth in the areas of water management and good practices of environmental sanitation.

Publishing
Green WaterHut has also established a Publishing Unit to publish all the research and project outcomes of the organisation. These publications will be featured on the Website of Green WaterHut, National and International Newspapers, Journals etc.The Publishing Unit shall also be in charge of organizing Radio Programmes to educate the public on water and environmental issues.
